Pick the Perfect Pumpkin at These Patches

A visit to local pumpkin patches is a fall tradition for many Trinity Falls families. Luckily there are an abundance of patches throughout the Dallas area to choose from. In addition to “gourd-geous” pumpkins, many offer family-friendly activities such as hayrides, food, mazes, farm animals and more.

Storybook Ranch

Just minutes away from Trinity Falls is an Old West town full of pumpkins, hay and wagon rides, pony rides, bounces houses, a petting zoo and games. Proceeds support River Ranch Educational Charities.


The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

Voted one of the best pumpkin patches in Texas, Big Orange Pumpkin Farm allows kids to experience pumpkins on the vine, romp on hay bales and interact with 50 different farm animals. Weekday admission includes a pumpkin, hay maze, hayride, feed for the petting barn and admission to the roping pen. Weekends include free hot dogs and a train ride. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome.


Autumn at the Arboretum

Absolutely worth the drive is the Dallas Arboretum’s favorite fall festival. Themed “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the event features the internationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village with more than 90,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds, plus the outstanding Children’s Adventure Garden. Costumes allowed for children 12 and under.

Instagram your heart out at this pumpkin patch which features fall picture backdrops as well as lots and lots of pumpkins. Additional activities include bounce houses, Market with a Mission, hay mazes and hayrides. Weekends include face painting and pumpkin launching.

Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins are for sale at this annual pumpkin patch. Proceeds support CUMC youth ministries.


Lola's Pumpkin Patch

Free admission. $5 parking

Pumpkins for sale daily. Weekend activities include food, pumpkin painting, pony rides, The Reptile Encounter, hayrides, face painting and more.

Enjoy simple down-home charm as well as pumpkins, a barrel train, farm animals, hay maze, blaster cannon, Cowboy Tex and the Half Pint Homestead


Halls Pumpkin Farm

Hours vary but open daily through Oct. 31
$5 adults, $3 kids 4-11, free for 3 and under

Pick a pumpkin then get lost in Halls’ two acres of towering corn stalks — some standing 9 feet tall — surrounding paths leading through unbelievable twists, turns and dead ends.
