Energetic, team-oriented and experienced, Torey Schmorr is the perfect person to head up our lifestyle team.
Our Lifestyle Director comes to us with a background in education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and worked as a teacher for several years in her home state of Florida.
“I feel that my degree has helped me as a lifestyle director,” Torey said. “It has allowed me to bring some educational components to the events, where residents can walk away from an event learning something new.”
While teaching, she also ran her local parks and recreation summer camp program where she oversaw activities, shows and field trips for children aged 5 and up.
She began her foray into event planning after moving to Texas in 2019.
“I got into event planning four years ago, when I took the position as Lifestyle Director at Wildridge,” she said. “I fell in love with the planning and executing process and haven’t looked back since.”
She loves planning large events for residents.
“I love thinking of all the logistics to the event, how to add fun entertainment and how to improve the event every year,” Torey said.
She has added more entertainment to some of our signature events as well as introducing new and exciting ones, including an Animal Extravaganza for the week of spring break, 50’s Retro Night and Car Show, and Pups N’ Puppachinos for National Dog Day.
Some fun facts about her that she wants to share with residents are that she married her high school sweetheart, has a 2-year-old son named Henry, is a former collegiate softball player and her favorite color is pink.
Happy anniversary, Torey! We look forward to getting to know you better and enjoying everything you have planned for us in 2024.
